A HARI NOMINATED FOR WORLD'S SEXIEST VEGETARIAN

Ever since he won the Sword of Negros in 2006, Hari ng Negros Mark Xander Fabillar, has been in constant campaign to go vegan and promote the rights of animals. Just recently Mark was nominated by no other than the PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS (PETA) as one of the WORLD'S SEXIEST VEGETARIANS.








Joining Mark for the nominations include celebrities like Alec Baldwin, Bryan Adams, Kevin Bacon, Prince, Rupert Everett, Sir Paul McCartney, Alanis Morisette, Alicia Silverstone, Alyssa Milano, Carrie Underwood, Ellen DeGeneres, Hayden Panettiere, Kelly Clarkson, Kim Basinger, Natalie Portman, Vanessa Williams and many others.






PETA's slogan is "animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment." The organization focuses on four core issues: factory farming, fur farming, animal testing, and animals in entertainment. It also campaigns against fishing, the killing of animals regarded as pests, the keeping of chained backyard dogs, cock fighting, and bullfighting. It aims to inform the public of its position through advertisements, undercover investigations, animal rescue, and lobbying.

THE HEAT IS ON!

The preliminary online competitions will begin soon, starting with the Hari ng Negros Wildcard Challenge on May 18 til June 26. The winner of the wildcard will have an automatic spot in the Top 10. Details of the Wild Card will follow.

In the meantime feast your eyes on the new Princes.

This week the princes of Canlaon and Bayawan Cities will make their grand entrance. The heat is definitely on this summer.

CHASING WATERFALLS

It has always been a tradition in Hari ng Negros to have the first set of pictorials done in many of Canlaon City's untouched waterfalls.

The journey to the waterfalls always begins at the foot of the volcano.

Hiking carefully through high cliffs and ravines.

Athleticism, endurance and agility are required.

But the sacrifice is truly worth it.

Especially after the tired body needs to be reinvigorated.

And fully recharged.
